It has been far too long since I have posted anything on here! While I was travelling around Germany I was not online so much (and living in a tent for part of my travels!), so I had very little time spare to update the website or get much else done. As soon as I got back to the UK, I had a lot to sort out before starting university. I am now studying an Extended Degree in Engineering & Mathematics, and I have a lot to learn, since previously I studied sports, fitness and circus. I never studied maths, physics, chemistry or any engineering related subjects at college - so kind of a steep learning curve! But I do enjoy understanding how stuff works, so I am enjoying it, and I'll be able to make some cool circus toys with my knowledge at the end of it. I have just updated the photo gallery, so there are more pictures on there, but here are a few from my time in Germany... Photos above are from the European Hula Hoop Convention in Regensburg, and the European Juggling Convention (EJC) in Munich. I had an amazing time over the summer in Germany. I met so many lovely people and made some really good friends - I can't wait to go back. While I was in Germany my friend Birte (from Berlin) and I, sort of got talked into doing a fire hoop act for the fire renegade at the EJC. A renegade show is an open stage which is held at juggling conventions, it's supposed to be a bit of fun, and to try out stuff in front of an audience of other jugglers. So in tribute to Bavaria we came up with our Strudel Girl Fire Hoop Act. You can view the video below.
I hope to update this blog again soon, and will be posting more information about my next intensive hula hoop workshops to be held in Hamburg, Germany and Greentop Circus in Sheffield, UK. |
